Utilizing MELT, we quickly assess and correct body alignment, free the diaphragm and strengthen the core, which are all essential to a powerful stage performance. The class incorporates the important work of Carl Stough’s Principles of Breathing Coordination and Shane Ann Younts’ respected voice work. Gail Bell is accompanied by Lynn Martin who uses hands-on work to guide students through the breathing coordination exercises.
About the Instructor:
Gail is an adjunct professor in the Graduate Acting Program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. An actor by trade and a member of Equity, S.A.G and A.F.T.R.A, Gail is dedicated to helping others unlock their full potential. She is a Certified Advanced MELT Instructor who has had intense study of anatomy, breathing and movement with Leslie Kaminoff at the Breathing Project and Sue Hitzmann, MELT’s creator. Additionally she’s studied anatomy and Carl Stough’s Principles of Breathing Coordination with Lynn Martin, at NYU.
